One of the main advantages for people who are considering Markham boot camp is the fact that the coaches are dedicated to providing a positive environment for participants. Individuals participating in the camp are not subjected to any type of embarrassing or negative motivation, as is often the case in other “boot camps.”

One of the main concepts that have made this program successful and have increased its popularity very quickly is the fact that each session is filled with music, laughter and enthusiasm. Participants of the camp are encouraged and supported by coaches and by peers as they work towards a goal for losing weight and becoming healthy. The sessions are small; usually no more than twenty people, and personalized.

The camps are scheduled from four to six weeks and provide a holistic exercise, fitness, and nutritional program during this time. Prior to entering the boot camp an individual will meet with a personal coach. Prior to starting the exercise program participants complete a series of stretches. These stretching exercises are designed to help a person gain flexibility and be able to perform the exercise routines without being injured. Following an exercise session the group then completes a series of yoga exercises that serve to relax the body and increase flexibility in those areas that have been toned.

The exercise part of the program is designed to be more effective than regular cardio exercises and increases the metabolism significantly, which burns calories at a greater rate. The exercise regimen is changed on a monthly basis. Whether a person is involved in the four-week program or the six-week program they will not become bored with the program.
